Privacy and Information

The COVID-19 Evaluation is committed to protecting the rights and privacy of all individuals in accordance with the Data Protection Acts 1988-2018 and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).  Any personal information that you volunteer will be treated with the highest standards of security and confidentiality, strictly in accordance with these legislative provisions.

The COVID-19 Evaluation only collects the information that you volunteer to us. This includes:

  • The personal information you provide as part of our consultation/submissions process/online survey;
  • Information sent by email, post or provided over the phone.

Any information that you provide is used only in line with the purpose for which you provided it and will only be shared with officials working directly on the COVID-19 Evaluation.

Freedom of Information (FOI)

The FOI Act 2014 provides that from 21 April 1998, every person has the following legal rights:

  • the right to access official records held by government departments or other public bodies listed in the Act;
  • the right to have personal information held on them corrected or updated where such information is incomplete, incorrect or misleading;
  • the right to be given reasons for decisions taken by public bodies that affect them.

These rights mean that from 21 April 1998 people can seek access to personal information held on them no matter when the information was created, and to other records created after 21 April 1998.

To make an FOI request

  • submit the request in writing or by email. Be clear enough so that we understand what records are being requested. Where possible please try to indicate the time period for which you wish to access records e.g. records created between February 2025 and April 2025.
  • state in your correspondence that the request is being made under the Freedom of Information Act 2014
  • send your request for records under the FOI Act by post or email to:
